VISITING TEACHER
1. DESCRIPTION OF DISTRICT LEVEL DELIVERY MODEL
The Visiting Teacher will:
a) design, teach and evaluate individual academic programs for students unable to function successfully in regular or alternate school-based classes;
b) work as a team member with all personnel involved with students' rehabilitative program;
c) work with students experiencing emotional/learning problems who may be reluctant learners;
d) plan and implement individual academic programs (regular, modified or remedial, K-12).
2. MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
a) valid B.C. Teaching Certificate;
b) a minimum of two years satisfactory classroom teaching experience;
c) course work and/or experience pertaining to students in need of intensive behavioural support.
3. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Experience working with students in need of intensive behavioural support.
4. REPORTING STRUCTURE
The personnel in this position are accountable in the execution of their assigned duties to a Director of Instruction, Education Services.
